Constellation Learning Institute is an accredited online school by the Cognia Global Commission (previously AdvancEd), a 125 year old organization and in addition now comprised of legacy agencies the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, the Northwest Accreditation Commission, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.

Constellation Learning Institute works with students and faculty to develop learning plans. In addition, learning with CLI is multimodal so students can access information in ways that best support their strengths. CLI also has an online learning resource center for students who have learning accommodations.

Constellation Learning Institute offers several different formats to better support students’ scheduling needs: Fixed Pace, Extended Core, Student Paced and Guided Study. Most students choose Fixed Pace courses which meet on Zoom two-three times a week, for 45 minutes to an hour. Elective courses meet once a week, for 45 minutes to an hour.

Yes. Constellation Learning Institute is able to accommodate time zones all over the world. In addition, student schedules are built through 1:1 meetings with your CLI advisor to take into account student scheduling needs (i.e. sports or performing arts practices).

Constellation Learning Institute is a responsive learning environment that takes into account families’ unique needs. At times, we recognize students may need to be reachable by phone for emergencies, however we encourage students to be phone-free during class time.

Yes. Full and part-time students will have a designated advisor who will provide support weekly. Students will meet 1:1 and in small groups with their advisor.

Assessment happens both in formative and summative ways. Students receive consistent feedback throughout the term on projects, tests and other demonstrations of learning. Students are also guided to develop metacognition and reflection on their own learning growth. CLI will also provide a percentage and letter grade with narrative faculty comments at midterm and end of semester.

Yes. Your student will receive their high school transcript if needed for transferring, along with their high school diploma (if full-time) upon graduating.

Students have a mix of Zoom sessions with their faculty and classmates and independent focused study time. See our sample schedules for a better understanding of what a typical day might look like.

Students have assignments, projects and work that is both collaborative and independent, in addition to zoom sessions. Students can anticipate spending 4-6 hours a week per course.

Yes, we have partnerships with both individual college counselors and several counseling organizations available to interested families to guide and support the college admissions process. We recommend students begin meeting with college counselors their sophomore year.

Constellation Learning Institute partners with local and national test prep organizations if students are interested in formalized standardized test preparation.

Yes, Constellation Learning Institute supports student-led interest groups/clubs, as well as partnerships in the student’s community to help have extracurricular opportunities.
